Devon's Active Partnership,
backed by Sport England.

Active Devon is Devon's Active Partnership — one of 43 across England working with Sport England to tackle inactivity and improve physical and mental health. The organisation received a £3.2 million investment from Sport England for a five-year programme, and works with communities, schools, clubs and partner organisations across Devon to help people move more, with a particular focus on reducing inequalities in access to physical activity.

A website that serves
several different audiences at once.

A website that could serve multiple audiences — the general public looking for activities and programmes, partner organisations accessing resources and data, schools engaging with the Creating Active Schools framework, and Sport England as a reporting and compliance audience.

The site needed to handle a large and growing volume of content (news, blog posts, programmes, resources, events) while remaining accessible and navigable for non-technical visitors.

A WordPress site structured around
the audiences and the programmes.

We designed and built a WordPress website structured around Active Devon's key audiences and programme areas. The site manages a substantial content library — news, blog posts, programme pages, resources and partner information — through an intuitive CMS that the Active Devon team uses independently. The design balances the organisation's community focus with the professional presentation required for a Sport England-funded body.

We provide ongoing hosting and support, and the site continues to evolve alongside Active Devon's programmes and strategic priorities. Paired with Active Cornwall, this project demonstrates our experience with the Sport England Active Partnership network and the compliance and reporting requirements that come with public funding.
